Now, more than a decade later, Ryan turns the spotlight on you. Let's see what you got.
Any and all questions should be directed to Adrian at Lostwitchz@yahoo.com
-You must be 18 or over to submit your film.
-Submissions must be between 30 seconds and 10 minutes but you can submit as many segments as you wish.
-Films must be void of any and all title cards (i.e. credit sequences, etc.) simply presenting the "raw footage" experience. You must provide a dialogue list if your film is not in English (DO NOT add subtitles of any kind yourself).
-Absolutely no musical score shall be added in post-production (if music is actually playing during your video - i.e. a song on the radio - that is perfectly fine, as long as you provide written permission by the musician/copyright owner).
-Shoot it on VHS, Hi-8, Mini DV, Canon 5D, Blackmagic, 8mm, whatever you wish. The quality itself does not matter, this is SNUFF! But your delivery file must be: 1080p, 16x9/1.78:1, 23.976.
-There is no limit on sex and violence, however...
-No real killing or harm of any species is permitted (human, animals, fish, bugs, etc). Include all the fake killing that you wish. No illegal activity. Actors appearing in nude/sex scenes must be at least 18 years of age at the time of filming. You must include two forms of I.D.'s, a signed nudity waiver detailing all nude/sexual acts, and actor release forms from any and all actors appearing nude and/or in sexual scenes in your video entry. We prefer realism to exploitation. No amount of blood will matter if the human skull that you're beating to death looks fake or doesn't seem to serve any purpose to the actions of your characters. Make it believable, and as seemingly real as possible.
-You may not sell credits for this film (i.e. producer credits, etc). Of course, bring on any investors that you wish for your project, but do not promise things that you can not offer. We are deciding on possibly making the film "credit free" to preserve the real feeling, and only giving credits to the filmmakers, in the form of - the name of your segment, the country of submission, and the person (director or directors) providing the segment; i.e. "The Dying Woman (France) provided by Jean-Luc Godard." On IMDB all cast/crew will end up being credited (with "uncredited" placed along side their names) but we would like the actual viewing experience to feel authentic.
-If your film is picked it must be exclusive to this project until 1 year after the official release date by the distributor. Filmmakers will receive 60% of profits collected by Mad Sin Cinema. All films will be divided equally for payment.
-If your film is not picked for the anthology we've worked out a special deal with LostWitch Releasing. You will have the option to be included in a limited VHS and/or DVD release by this amazing filmmaker-friendly company, plus you keep all rights to your segment!
-Films are due on Halloween (October 31) 2015. There is no entry fee. Please send your submissions via private links on Vimeo to both firstname.lastname@example.org and Lostwitchz@yahoo.com (do not send rough cuts, final versions only please.
So there ya go folks Shane is really rallying to see some ladies get involved in this one too! Snuff isn't just a boys game anymore! I for one am really looking forward to seeing the finished film. I am a huge fan of Shane Ryans' work and if you haven't watched him yet you NEED to! The man makes some of the most inspired heart wrenching arthouse style horror you will ever see and he does so with limited to zero budget, so no belly aching about needing money to make a submission if you need inspiration look around you, check the news read up on serial killers and let your inner beast take control (figuratively folks, don't want to see any of you on the actual news!)
