British film Dog Soldiers written and directed by Neil Marshall releases in the UK. This is a film that has been panned by many but I find it to be fantastic. In the course of routine military training excercises a group of men find themselves face to face with a pack of werewolves, in a fight to the death. The film went straight to DVD in the states and premiered on the SCI FI channel. Dog Soldiers has cultivated a bit of a cult following in the years since its release and there has been talk of a sequel since 2004, that however seems to be stuck in pre production hell, leaving most fans disappointed and discouraged.
The Pang Brothers celebrate the Hong Kong release of The Eye in 2002. A film that started a wave of remakes as well as spawned 2 of its own sequels. The film has 3 remakes including one done in INDIA, and an American version starring Jessica Alba. Also Called Seeing Ghosts the film the story of girl blind since 2 who receives donor eyes and regains her site. It comes at a high cost however, and soon she begins seeing more than she bargained for until the shocking ending. If youve never seen the original foreign version today is a great day to celebrate the one that started it all.
